Ab Mood Nahi Hai
I woke up to the news of India completely a daylight robbery in Sydney, depriving the Aussies of a certain victory. Battered, bruised and abused India, with their second string side had managed to pull off an unlikely draw.
Now don't get me wrong. I felt happy for them. I really did. It made my belief that about test cricket being the best format even stronger. A world class team, performing like a cornered tiger. However, my heart and mind revisited the trauma of Pakistan's last tour down under. David Warner's 335, Ponting calling our bowling attack the worst one to have ever visited their shores. Then Zak Crawley's 267 and New Zealand's 659/6 pierced my heart, yet again.
The constant heartbreaks and mediocrity of the men who had brought me to this game had reached a tipping point. Yes cricket was still an amazing game, possibly more interesting than ever. Beast Morgan, King Kohli, Freak Buttler, Mr. 360 ABD, all ambassadors of modern day cricket had enchanted fans around the world. But the fire in my heart had somehow died, after flickering feebly for a long, long time.
Suddenly, the ending lines from Raanjhanaa movie played in my mind:
Par saala ab uthe Kaun, Kaun phir se mehnat kare, dil lagane ko, dil turwane ko...
Ab saala mood nahi hai..
